Barry M primer battle!

We’ve all heard of Barry M’s unicorn primer drops beauty elixr which is a dupe for the farsali unicorn essence primer, well now they have brought out the new nymph radiance serum beauty elixr, so I decided to try out the 2 and help you decide which is best for you as to me these seemed like two very similar products.

Radiance Serum:

Barry M says you can use the radiance serum a few different ways dependent on your preference. Barry M states “use to moisturise and prime skin and as an enriching night treatment or add some drops to your foundation for a dewy, radiant finish”. I tried this serum directly onto the skin a skin a primer and I also tried mixing a few drops into my foundation. Whichever way i used this I loved the result! It really does what it says I found when I used this product both as a primer and mixed into my foundation my face did look more radiant even after setting my face with powder. I personally prefer to use the serum as a primer rather than mixing it into my foundation as I just find it easier and quicker this way and I just find it less messy.

Unicorn Primer:

Barry M states “use under makeup to prime skin or on its own to hydrate, brighten and protect from free radical damage”. With this primer I thought it was only fair to test this out the same way and I tried it as a primer and mixed in with the foundation. I found that this primes your skin perfectly! It creates the perfect canvas for makeup application after your moisturiser. It has an ever so slightly tacky finish so that your foundation has something to grab onto so it isn’t slipping and sliding about. I personally preferred the end result of this primer when I used it as a primer before foundation. I found that my skin looked smoother when used as a primer although I did also like the result when mixed into my foundation I just don’t think it looked as good as when used as a primer and again it’s just easier and less messy when used as a primer directly onto the skin.

All in all I loved both these beauty elixr’s. They both smell AMAZING! If I could only purchase one of these products I would probably purchase the radiance serum as I prefer the finish you get from this serum but this is down to personal preference and depends on what kind of finish you are looking for. If you can afford to get both get both! I think these two products would work AMAZINGLY together when mixed together as a primer which I am definitely going to try!
