I have been using the Simple Refreshing Facial Wash for years, however a few months ago I received a free sample of the Elemis Superfood Facial Wash from Feelunique.com in the Black Friday sales and I fell in love with it and had to have the full sized version! But, is the Elemis worth the £25 price point? How does it compare to the Simple face wash? Is there actually a difference between these? And would I recommend the Elemis over the Simple facial wash? Read on to find out my opinion on these two facial washes.
Elemis Superfood Facial Wash:
Elemis states “This nourishing facial wash revives and refreshes whilst deeply cleansing the skin. Formulated with nutrient-dense Superfoods offering a balanced diet of active ingredients for an outdoor-fresh glow. Avocado, Broccoli and Pumpkin Seed oils are combined with a natural prebiotic to help balance the skin’s precious microbiome. Wheatgrass, Kale, and Nettle are combined to leave the complexion looking luminous, bright and radiant”. Now as I mentioned I have absolutely fallen in love with this wash! Not only does it smell amazing but it makes my skin feel so soft, smooth and refreshed. I’ve also noticed when I’ve used this facial wash my face looks more radiant and glowy as Elemis claims. I’ve also found that somehow when I use this wash it makes me feel more awake and I feel like I have more energy.
Simple Refreshing Facial Wash:
Simple states “Simple Refreshing Facial Wash thoughrouly washes away make-up, dirt and other impurities leaving your skin feeling clean, fresh and revived. Made with skin-loving ingredients, contains Triple Purified Water and vitamins to help replenish and nourish your skin witouth irritation. Perfect for even sensitive skin”. Now this wash doesn’t really have much of a scent to it at all which isn’t always a bad thing especially if you have very sensitive skin which is who the whole simple range is aimed at. I have found that when I use this facial wash my skin feels clean and fresh, however I haven’t noticed much of a change in the appearance of my skin apart from I have noticed less breakouts when using this wash and it doesn’t irritate my skin at all as I do go through stages where my skin can get quite dry and sensitive. I do also like that this wash works into more of a lather than the Elemis wash.
All in all I do prefer the Elemis Superfood Facial Wash to the Simple Refreshing Facial Wash. I feel like there is definitely a huge difference in the quality of the two washes and the effect it has on the skin. Do I think the Elemis facial wash is worth the £25 price point? Honestly? No! I do think it is a little overpriced for what it is although it does last a while as you only need a little bit for the whole face. Do I recommend it? Absolutely! If you can afford it then I would definitely say to try it for yourself you really will love the results, however, maybe shop around and see if it’s on offer anywhere before paying full price but if you can’t afford it let’s face it both washes do a job and that is ultimately to clean your face and the simple wash works just fine.
